The CO2 adaptor adds the ability to use standard CO2 paintball tanks in place of the standard full power 3000 psi air tanks. It allows the end user upwards of 1000 shots per tank, eliminates the need for high pressure air charging and is ideal for backyard plinking or indoor target shooting. As part of AirForce's shooting system philosophy, the adapter fits all AirForce air rifles and requires no modifications or tools to install. Removal to return to the full power air tank is just as quick and easy.
The adapter will work on all talon and condor models and has an integral valve system built in to the adapter operating the same way as a standard AirForce tank. To overcome the decreased length of pull from using the shorter CO2 cylinder, AirForce built the adapter extra long to bring back a comfortable shooting position when switching to CO2.
Velocity and temperature share a directly influenced relationship when CO2 is the gas used. AirForce does not recommend the use of this adapter at temperatures below 50 degrees F as the gun's performance will be sluggish and slow. However, at temperatures of 85 degrees F, performance is very good and velocities are in a very respectable range.
The .22 caliber Talon with 18" barrel will develop maximum velocities of approx. 650 fps and the .22 caliber Condor will develop maximum velocities of approx. 734 fps. These speeds were obtained at a temperature of 85 degrees F. Slightly warmer and velocity increases, slightly cooler and you can expect a lower number through the chronograph.
The very best reson to buy a CO2 adapter for your AirForce rifle is the number of shots you get per fill. AirForce has tested their rifles on CO2 and the results were amazing. With a 20oz cylinder, it is reasonable to expect upwards of 1000 shots when using your Condor or Talon air rifle, that equates to a full day of shooting with greatly reduced noise levels and respectable velocity/power.
