AirForce offers the Condor air rifle in 3 different calibers but the .177 isn't the most popular of the three. Due to the lightness of the .177 pellet and the extreme power of the Condor, the little pellet cannot absorb all the energy behind it and the overall ft lbs rating does suffer. We still see the Condor in .177 as a useful rifle/caliber combination as the .177 model delivers an extremely flat trajectory (there will be very little trajectory compensation for the first 50 yards) and because of the small front crossectional area of the .177 pellet, a complete pass through on small pests will be assured. We suggest that a Condor in .177 be used with the heaviest lead pellets available ( 10+ grains ) and the power adjustment wheel set where the pellet remains stable at the highest velocity ( under 1080 fps ). You will see why that is important when the power wheel is too high and poorly made lightweight pellets disintegrate in the barrel. The Condor in .177 is the flattest shooting model in the line-up, thus the reason we stock the extra, small caliber barrel as an accessory. Time required to swap out a barrel is no more than 5 minutes with no real skill required and an allen key.
