Product Information JSB Diabolo Exact .177 4.50mm 10.2gr. - 500pk The JSB Exact Diabolo .177 has a diameter of 4.5 mm and weighing in at a moderately heavy 10.2 grains. These pellets are inherently accurate due to the intensive sorting process at the factory. The powers that be at the JSB factory maintain a staff of professional sorters that inspect each and every pellet with a magnifying glass. If they aren't perfectly consistent, they are rejected and this one of a kind standard of quality is reflected in pellet performance that is unmatched. A preferred pellet for field target or hunting this weight class is recommended for rifle use and higher power levels such as 800 fps or higher*. We sell them in a 500ct tin only and ship them with special care to ensure they arrive in an un-dented condition. * (Why we suggest you use these pellets with higher power rifles) - The non-restricted air pistol or de-tuned rifle currently available to those individuals who do not hold a POL or PAL do not generate enough kinetic energy to properly utilize heavier projectile weights and especially those with oversize pellet skirts. ( The widest part of the pellet is the skirt and travels down the barrel last. ) An oversize skirt is a benefit as it ensures a tight " seal " preventing any air blow by around the back of the pellet. However, a sub 500 fps rifle or pistol struggles to force a heavy pellet through the rifling of the barrel and downrange to the target. In addition, pellet trajectory will be extremely " rainbow " shaped and severely limit effective range, without extensive target holdover. In extreme cases with a tight fitting bore and light power available from the propulsion system, the weaker spring-piston guns can experience piston-bounce, a condition where the pellet remains in the barrel as the compressed column of air doesn't exit the compression chamber and instead of the pellet moving forward, the piston is forced backward. For the best performance from lower powered guns try lighter pellets in the caliber chosen and also experiment with different pellet models to determine the ideal bore tolerance.
