This long-range air rifle has been specifically manufactured for the highest pellet speed. RWS rates the .22 - 350 at 950 fps, our independent testing found that this rifle consistently achieved 860 to 890 fps with a lightweight lead pellet ( RWS Hobby 11.9 grains ). The factory velocity rating would likely be the result of utilizing non-lead pellets which don't generally provide the best accuracy. The 350 - .22 also generates 19 - 22 ft lbs as well ( the exact K.E. depends on the particular copy tested ) which puts it into the range of " magnum " class. There aren't many break-barrel air rifles that can generate that kind of power, chronograph results from our test range have found only ( 3 ) other guns that could produce energy levels at that level or slightly higher. The Theoben Crusader ( 20 ft lbs ), the HW90 ( 23 ft lbs ), the Walther Falcon ( 25 ft lbs ) and the Theoben Eliminator ( 25 ft lbs ) all in .22 caliber would have the term "magnum" air rifle attached to them.
The 350 represents excellent value for a German manufactured gun with high quality blueing and woodwork. The stock is an attractive monte carlo design cut from beech in a right hand orientation, it is checkered at both the wrist and fore-end and the drop of the comb provides for useful scope or iron sight use. One terrific upgrade for 2011 is the NEW! TO6 match type trigger which is now included with every RWS 350 Magnum .22 coming out of the German factory. The TO6 is a delight to shoot, it is very crisp and light, with absolutely no awkward pause between the first stage and the break. The factory setting is completely satisfactory and we have measured numerous TO6 triggers for pull weight and find they break consistently between 1lb 1oz and 1lb 8 oz. The rifle also features an automatic safety that is completely silent to index forward to the fire position, RWS located the safety on the top of the receiver tube directly behind the scope rail and the position is easily indexed with the thumb of your right hand with no need to change your hand position. The integrated scope rail also includes a radiused port for locating a recoil pin which most quality one or two piece rings should include. The recoil pin is a necessity for a powerful air rifle such as this one, and will ensure no scope movement along the rail when shooting. Iron sights are standard with a hooded front sight and fully adjustable rear sight factory installed. The 350 Magnum features the RWS Lifetime Warranty. Made in Germany.
